When should I get a quote / home survey?

It is advisable to begin making enquiries at least three months before your estimated moving date. You can start with obtaining online quotes or researching guide prices for your destination You can then arrange a free in-home move survey. If you require a home survey, contact us to arrange a time and date which is convenient for you. The home survey is a free service, and you will not be charged a call-out fee. You will not be obligated to use our service either, it is simply the most accurate way of obtaining information to prepare a quotation for your overseas removal.

How do I value my items for Marine Insurance?

When valuing your items, you should always declare the replacement value at destination i.e., what it would cost you to replace that item in your new country of residence. Most insurance companies carry a minimum excess value. Please do note this when deciding what to insure, especially with minimal volumes or for items with no real replacement value.

Do I need to be present when my container is loaded/delivered?

Yes. Ensure that you are at the location when your delivery crew arrives. Please, stay while the unloading is underway to answer any questions. You may authorize an adult to represent your interests if you cannot be there yourself to accept your delivery and inform the delivery crew ahead of time. Your representative must be prepared to record any change in the condition of your items at the time of arrival and load.

• Seeds or live plants
• Open bottles
• Hazardous & flammable liquids

• Jewellery & precious metals/stones

International Moving Costs

The costs of shipping are based on the items surveyed at your home and are directly related to volume and/or weight. It is very important that any changes made to the list of items surveyed are communicated to our consultant, as this will affect the shipping price and quotes may need to be adjusted prior to collection to avoid any unnecessary hassles or confusion. Do note that volumes quoted are estimates and will be determined on final loading. Should the volume be higher than anticipated or a larger container required, the cost will be adjusted accordingly. As each move is unique and comes with different needs, it is hard to give an exact calculation of international moving costs.
